Some of our Favorite Campaigns from the 2024 Paris Olympics

The Olympic Games have always been about incredible athletes, cultural exchange, and bringing the world together. The 2024 Paris Olympics are set to continue this tradition, promising a fantastic display of human achievement and sportsmanship. With everyone watching Paris, the marketing campaigns for these games are sure to be creative, inclusive, and super inspiring. Here’s a look at some of the cool strategies and standout campaigns making waves for the upcoming 2024 Paris Olympics:

NBC: In March 2024, NBC – the home network of the 2024 Paris Olympics – released an advert featuring multi-platinum rapper and Hot Girl connoisseur Megan Thee Stallion. The advertisement features Megan welcoming the world to “Thee Paris Olympics” – all while strutting her stuff in front of four stallions situated within a Parisian landscape. The ad ends with Megan in a boardroom with network executives, as well as a talking, fire-breathing horse…with wings, renaming the event using her signature adlib – The “Ahh-lympics.”

Silly in nature yet wildly smart, this advertisement is appealing to youth all over the world. Megan Thee Stallion has solidified herself as an icon for Gen-Z youth – from her iconic catchphrases to empowering songs. She has become an international household name. NBC is quite smart for utilizing her infectious personality and comedic relief to create hype for the upcoming games. 

This smart move is part of NBC’s plan of appealing to a wider audience, coming off the tails of their Paris Hilton advert released almost a year prior. By including Megan Thee Stallion in their kickoff, NBC is appealing to an entirely new audience, today's youth, while highlighting the notions of empowerment and fun that make the games what they are. 

LVMH: Who knew that one of the world’s biggest luxury conglomerates would also want to throw their hat into the Olympic games? 

Luxury brand LVMH (Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton) is rolling out a variety of innovative campaigns to celebrate their partnership with the Paris 2024 Olympics. They started with a bang by unveiling a stunning medals trunk featuring the iconic Louis Vuitton monogram.

One standout is a captivating advertisement that highlights the grandeur of the games and the brand's uniquely impressive craftsmanship. The company leans into the narrative of hard work, dedication, and perfection of one’s craft – whether that's in the games or in the atelier. The series of Olympic shots, as well as historic imagery of LVMH, leads up to the big reveal of the LV trunk designed to hold the medals for the 2024 Paris Olympic and Paralympic Games. 

On top of creating trophies and trunks, LVMH has teamed up with athletes from different sports, giving them shoutouts on their social media channels. 

With these campaigns, LVMH is going beyond traditional sponsorships. They’re effortlessly blending their brand narrative with that of the Olympics, celebrating French excellence and the artistry of athletic achievement. Though this is not a collaboration we expected, we are here for it!

P&G: Procter & Gamble, a massive, worldwide Olympic and Paralympic partner, is spotlighting their top household and personal care brands with Olympic-themed marketing and in-store campaigns. They’re also having brand-sponsored athlete partnerships and giving athletes free products and services in the Athletes’ Village during the Paris Games. 

Within the Athletes’ Village, P&G will be supplying:

  • The Village Nursery with Pampers creating a comforting environment for athletes to spend time with their children while competing. We think this is a perfect way to provide branded services and products, while also fostering an atmosphere to spend quality time with the family. 

  • A Beauty and Grooming Salon with Pantene, Head & Shoulders, Mielle, Gillette, and Braun. They are providing complimentary beauty and grooming services to athletes to look and feel their best while competing.

  • A P&G Welcome Kit: Each athlete will be supplied with P&G’s everyday essentials, from toothbrushes and grooming products to cleaning products to support their health and wellness during the games.

P&G, before and during the games, is also working with 30+ of their brands to roll out Olympics-inspired marketing campaigns to highlight their everyday performance with that of a pro athlete! They are quite smart in aligning themselves with various Olympic athletes, emphasizing how P&G products work hand-in-hand with thousands of athletes to help them perform their very best. 

P&G also recognizes the struggles of balancing personal and family life with competing in the games. Providing the Athletes’ Village with P&G-branded products highlights the importance of personal wellness, as well as everyday care, so athletes can effectively prepare themselves for (hopefully) one of the greatest moments in their careers. 

We love to see brands recognizing the stress of competing in the Olympics, and P&G is doing an awesome job of aligning their brand story of personal wellness with athletic performance!

As we approach the opening ceremony, it's clear that the marketing strategies employed have set the stage for what promises to be an unforgettable event.
