TikTok Takeover: Indie’s Social Media Competition

Back in February, our CEO Molly introduced our next internal project: the Indie Instagram Challenge. Considering that we do help brands with their social media every day, it’s about time to start our own.

The team was to be split into five groups and pitted against each other in a friendly competition of pitching Indie’s new Instagram or other social media account strategy. We had until April 6th to collaborate with our teams to develop a winning concept. And for the grand prize… let’s just say an abundance of our favorite La Colombe Cold Brew was on the line.

The five teams met throughout February and March to prepare their presentations, keeping in mind the purpose, strategy, content development, account management, and overall style of our feed. After almost two months of planning, the teams met in April to square off.

Each group brought their A-game when pitching the concepts. To be expected from the title of the challenge, most of us presented an Indie Instagram strategy. However, two teams proposed an Indie TikTok account. In the end, it was between one Instagram and one TikTok pitch, two groups facing off for the social media title and a month’s supply of cold brew, of course.

In the end, TikTok took the cake! We could not pass up an opportunity to join today’s most eclectic and viral platform. Not to mention, we are fascinated by the way TikTok has affected the marketing game!

This brings us to today… the launch of Indie’s TikTok! We wanted to share a little bit about the intentions behind our account and what you can expect from following us:

So, why a TikTok? We ultimately decided that focusing on this platform and video content would best allow us to show our personality in addition to industry-related content. We want to share what we do, but also who we are. We’ve got some pretty cool team members, clients, and marketing takes to share with everyone. Not to mention, it’ll be a lot of fun!

You can expect to gain some insight into our team, our work, our clients, marketing how-to’s, and we’ll hop on some current trends. Whether it's an employee taking you through their day, or a tutorial on creating a content calendar, we’ve got it planned. Just real, authentic Indie content for your feed. If you don’t have a TikTok account– we’ve still got you covered as we’ll also post our content to Instagram reels.

We could talk about it all day, but why don't we just show you instead. If you’re interested in who we are and what we do, come on over to our brand new TikTok and Instagram accounts and meet the team!
