About 1% for the Planet

This global organization was created with the wellbeing of our world and future generations in mind. Yvon Chouinard, founder of Patagonia, and Craig Matthews, founder of Blue Ribbon Flies, started 1% for the Planet in 2002. Since the organization’s founding, members have given hundreds of millions in monetary donations to approved environmental nonprofits.

1% for the Planet inspires environmental care as members vow to support nonprofits through their actions and donations. With a simple vow of 1% revenue, they believe we can all make a difference in protecting our environment. With thousands of companies, individuals, and nonprofits all over the globe, 1% for the Planet has built such a strong community of like-minded people working towards a better future.

Why We Joined

As Indie and our team grows, we strive to stay committed to our focus on empathy-driven business practices. To us, this means taking opportunities to give back when we can and taking care of the world around us. 1% for the Planet is a wonderful network of like-minded companies that we are excited to be a part of!

Google Partner Certification

We are also now a certified Google Partner! What does this mean? The Google Partners program is for advertising agencies or third-parties that manage Google Ads accounts on behalf of other brands or businesses. They are recognized for having Google Ads skills and expertise to optimize campaigns and help get results.

How to Become a Google Partner

In order to become a certified Google Partner, a company needs to meet requirements across three different areas: performance, spend, and certification.

  • Performance: For this requirement, a company proves that they can successfully create and run Google Ads campaigns for the best possible results for their clients.

  • Spend: This requires maintaining $10,000 ad spend for 90-days on your company’s Google Partners Ads manager account.

  • Certification: This means at least 50% of a company’s Google Partners account strategists are certified in Google Ads. This includes at least one certification in each product category of campaign spend.

Through this certification process, a company proves their qualifications and proficiency in Google Ads campaigns. Meeting these requirements can allow clients to have full confidence in a Google Partner certified agency.

What This Means for Indie

As Google Partners, we gain access to educational training materials and insight reports to further enhance our product knowledge and stay on top of industry trends. We also receive access to technical support, advanced tools, inclusion resources, and product resources to bolster client success.

We hope that Indie’s certification adds an extra boost of reassurance for the clients that are entrusting us to help reach their marketing goals. On top of our access to exclusive Google Partners resources, we are proud to have four team members who are certified Google account strategists and look forward to continued growth on our team!

At Indie, we are grateful for the opportunities to give back and evolve through these amazing networks and resources!
